Although Kati Outinen most frequently performs theatre roles the actress, born in 1962, is known first and foremost as a protagonist in Aki Kaurismäki’s films (e.g. “The Man Without a Past”, for which she received the 2002 Best Actress Award in Cannes). From 2003 to 2013, she additionally worked as a drama professor at the Theatre Academy of Helsinki.
