Professorin h.c. an der Fachhochschule Osnabrück. In den 1960er und 70er Jahren Chefdramaturgin am Theater der Freundschaft, wo sie mit Horst Hawemann zusammengearbeitet hat. Lehraufträge und Workshops zur Theaterpädagogik im In- und Ausland.

Prof. Dr. Christel Hoffmann was for many years the chief dramaturg at East German Theater der Freundschaft in Berlin, head of the National Office for International Questions Relating to Children’s and Young People’s Theatre (ASSITEJ) and later head of the Berlin office of the Children’s and Young People’s Theatre Centre in the Federal Republic of Germany. She was the co-initiator and conceptual advisor of the International Directors’ Seminar until 2011.
