Katja Aßmann
Architektin und Kuratorin und seit Anfang 2012 die künstlerische Leiterin von Urbane Künste Ruhr. Zuvor arbeitete sie als Programmleiterin für die Bereiche Bildende Kunst und Architektur der Kulturhauptstadt Europas RUHR.2010 und als Geschäftsführerin der Landesinitiative StadtBauKultur NRW. Nach dem Studium der Architektur und Kunstgeschichte wirkte sie maßgeblich an der Internationalen Bauausstellung Emscher Park (IBA) mit und übernahm in der Endphase die Bereichsleitung Kunst und Kultur. Neben ihren kuratorischen Tätigkeiten arbeitete sie an interdisziplinären Kunstproduktionen und Ausstellungen zu den Themen Lichtkunst, Architektur, Design und Landschafts architektur.
is an architect and curator; since the beginning of 2012, she has been artistic director of Urbane Künste Ruhr. Previously, she worked as program director in the areas of visual arts and architecture for the European Cultural Capital RUHR.2010 and as managing director of the state initiative StadtBauKultur NRW. After her studies in architecture and art history, she played a major part in the International Building Exhibition Emscher Park (IBA) and, in the final phase, took over the directorship of the departments of art and culture. Along with her curatorial activities, she has worked on interdisciplinary art productions and exhibitions on the subjects of light art, architecture, design, and landscape architecture.
